The plan had to be compromised. A shame, but the key elements of it remained, now with the addition of a romantic piece of future Beatles trivia. And really, he knew he should see it in a positive light – here he was, finally following through on something: getting out
of bed, keeping focus on one project, and seeing it to its conclusion.

They would no doubt quibble over the details, but his parents would have to concede that there was a lot to admire.
