In this sequel to www.wildpressedbooks.com/the-vagabond-mother.html Maya and her daughter Daisy volunteer in a refugee camp on a Greek island, where they both start to question the validity of their recent life choices. Maya also mourns the widening gap between herself and the rest of her family. Daisy becomes involved with a resident at the camp, and when she hears he has left the island, she rashly decides to follow him. On the border between two countries, she finds herself in trouble. What is a frightening inconvenience for her is, however, a matter of life and death for the people she leaves behind when she is reunited with her furious mother. Back home, Daisy seeks atonement for her mistakes and embarks on a lengthy search for the one person who can make that happen. Maya, meanwhile, needs to decide once and for all where she truly belongs. The chapter headings in The Vagabond Seekers are real-life testimonies from refugees, who, like the third character in the book, have undertaken perilous journeys to reach a place of safety. |
