CROOKED WALK is a collection of poems all based in Sheffield.

The title refers to areas of Sheffield  (Crookes/Walkley) and also the fact that no matter which direction you walk in Sheffield, you are always walking uphill.​

“It wasn’t your fault,” I say,
“You weren’t even moving.”

“Still, he’s going to be
so mad at me,” she says.

I type my number
into her phone.

“He’s already angry
I’m home late.”

I type my email address
into her phone.

“He’s not going to be happy.”

I finish typing
and hand her phone back.

“He’s going to be really angry.”
She looks me in the eyes
for the first time.
“Really angry,
“do you know what I mean?”​
